Dr. Steven Koopman

Dr. Koopman is a board-certified urologist with advanced fellowship training in endourology and minimally invasive surgery. He is affiliated with NorthShore Swedish Hospital, Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, and AMITA St. Francis Hospital. A graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Koopman earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his internship and urology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, followed by a two-year fellowship in endourology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Koopman offers comprehensive care in general urology with specialized expertise in the surgical and medical management of complex kidney stone disease, advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures for both benign and malignant urologic conditions, including robotic/laparoscopic prostatectomy, cystectomy, nephrectomy, and partial nephrectomy. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Koopman has authored several book chapters on kidney stone management and the use of molecular targeted imaging in kidney cancer staging.
