Dr. Sameer Chopra

Dr. Sameer Chopra
Dr. Chopra is a board-eligible urologist who began training on the west coast at the University of Southern California Medical Center. At USC, he was trained to perform both complex open and robotic procedures involving complex oncologic issues such as prostate, bladder and renal cancers. He then relocated to the east coast where he completed his urologic training at Jefferson Health System and learned to perform minimally invasive endoscopic procedures to address voiding issues regarding prostate enlargement. Dr. Chopra treats all conditions of the genitourinary tract from kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular and penile cancers to benign conditions such as kidney stones, strictures, overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and infertility. Dr. Chopra is interested in providing access to new technologies and using minimally invasive techniques to help improve patient outcomes and satisfaction in all facets of urologic care. Dr. Chopra is a true surgical scientist, having published extensively in urologic journals and books and participated and enrolled many patients into clinical trials. Dr. Chopra believes that urologic care is best undertaken as a partnership between patients and himself, thus taking the time to educate his patients in their care.

All surgical treatments have inherent and associated side effects. Individual’s outcomes may depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to patient characteristics, disease characteristics and/or surgeon experience. The most common side effects are mild and transient and may include mild pain or difficulty when urinating, discomfort in the pelvis, blood in the urine, inability to empty the bladder or a frequent and/or urgent need to urinate, and bladder or urinary tract infection. Other risks include ejaculatory dysfunction and a low risk of injury to the urethra or rectum where the devices gain access to the body for treatment. Further, there may be other risks as in other urological surgery, such as anesthesia risk or the risk of infection, including the potential transmission of blood borne pathogens. For more information about potential side effects and risks associated with Aquablation therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) treatment, speak with your urologist or surgeon. Prior to using our products, please review the Instructions for Use, Operator’s Manual or User Manual, as applicable, and any accompanying documentation for a complete listing of indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions and potential adverse events.
