Dr. Obi Ekwenna

Dr. Obi Ekwenna is a board-certified urologist and abdominal transplant surgeon at the University of Toledo Medical Center and an Associate Professor at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He specializes in robotic and minimally invasive urologic and genitourinary surgery, as well as kidney and pancreas transplantation . A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, with urology training at the University of Miami and a transplant fellowship at the Miami Transplant Institute, Dr. Ekwenna is also Associate Program Director of UT’s Urology Residency, Transplant Fellowship Director. He is recognized for advancing transplant care, including performing UTMC’s first robotic-assisted kidney transplant, and is active in research focused on urology and transplant outcomes and global surgery.
