Dr. Matthew Johnson
Dr. Johnson is Medical Director of Urology at Enloe Health, where he was appointed in January 2021 to spearhead the urology program.
During his tenure, he has developed the urology robotics program at Enloe Health and serves on the robotics steering committee.
He is a leader in Aquablation for Northern California, having performed over 100 cases.
Dr. Johnson earned his BA in Biochemistry from the College of St. Scholastica, his MS from the University of Minnesota in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, and his MD from Carver School of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He completed his urologic surgery residency at The Ohio State University, where he later became chief resident in urology.
Prior to joining Enloe Health, Dr. Johnson was a partner at Urology of St. Louis, one of the largest private practice groups in the United States. Prior to joining Urology of St. Louis, he started his career at Lahey Health Clinic in New England. His surgical and clinical work focuses on robotic kidney surgery, kidney stone disease, and cutting edge BPH treatments. Currently, Dr. Johnson serves at the largest community health center in Northern California, and his reputation has received referrals for his services throughout the West Coast.
Dr. Johnson is a member of many professional societies, including the American Urological Association, the Western Section of the American Urological Association, the American Board of Urology and the Butte-Glenn Medical Association.
In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys traveling (he is one continent away from having explored all 7), birdwatching with his wife and running -- recently completing his first marathon in Athens, Greece.
