Dr. Evan Vapnek

Dr. Evan M. Vapnek is a Board Certified Urologist and Kidney Transplant surgeon. In addition to being a founding member of Genesis Healthcare Partners, he is the Surgical Director of the Living Donor Program of the Sharp Memorial Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program. He has been practicing in San Diego since 1999. A native New Yorker, Dr. Vapnek received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester before earing his M.D. from the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He completed two years of General Surgery training at University of California, San Francisco follow by a Urology residency at Downstate Medical Center. He then completed a two year fellowship in Renal Transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is a past president of the San Diego Urological Association and serves on the board for the Urologic Society for Transplant and Renal Surgery. Dr. Vapnek is on staff at Sharp Memorial and Scripps Mercy hospitals. He treats all urologic conditions including kidney stones, enlarged prostate, urinary incontinence and has particular expertise in laparoscopic and robotic kidney surgery.
