Dr. Deena Theiss

Dr. Theiss graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and completed a Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program at University of Pennsylvania. She received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her general surgery and urologic surgical residency training at University of Miami. Dr. Theiss enjoys the long term relationships with her patients and believes in a shared decision making model between her and her patients, with the goal of compassionate care while treating the “whole patient”. She strives to provide consistent and beneficial long term results for her patients. Board certified by the American Board of Urology since 2004, whose training covered the breadth of urology, Dr. Theiss has particular interest in enlarged prostate disease (BPH) – including minimally invasive procedures such as Rezum, and performed the first Aquablation at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Hospital. Dr. Theiss is an active member of many professional societies including the American Urologic Association, Cobb County Medical Society, Medical Association of Georgia and Christian Medical & Dental Association. She is a published author and has presented her research at national and international urology conferences. In addition, Dr. Theiss is fluent in Spanish and is a Clinical Urology Instructor for Internal Medicine Residency Program and is honored to be voted one of Castle Connolly Top Doctors 2025. During her leisure time, Dr. Theiss enjoys running, adventure traveling, gardening and being with her kids and grandchildren. She enjoys participating in mission trips to the Middle East and Central America as well as leading neighborhood Bible studies with her husband.
