Dr. Joshua S. Jue is a Manhattan-trained urologist with over 50 peer-reviewed publications that have been translated into multiple languages, who specializes in robotic, percutaneous, and endoscopic surgical techniques. He was the first and only resident physician to be chosen as the chief resident for 2 consecutive years in his program’s history. Dr. Jue decided to focus on robotic surgery and minimally invasive urologic oncology during his second chief year, and he became one of the first chief residents in his program to be selected as an acting clinical fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Here, he refined his surgical techniques and published research with leading surgeons in the field.
Dr. Jue has earned numerous awards and grants for his basic science and clinical research, which have most recently focused on developing new surgical techniques and technology in focal therapy for prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and erectile dysfunction. During his time in Manhattan, Dr. Jue conceived and demonstrated the upper tract tumor en bloc enucleation, a novel ureteroscopic technique to achieve extensive histopathologic information and complete tumor resection for upper tract urothelial carcinoma. In 2022, he was among the top 10% Most Cited Clinicians on Doximity. His most cited publications investigate the topics of PSA density, robotic partial nephrectomy for small renal masses, and the use of telemedicine for complex surgical cases. Dr. Jue continues his research contributions by serving as a reviewer for the American Urological Association’s Journal of Urology since 2017, as well as over 20 other PubMed indexed journals.
His expertise in urology has been recognized as a surgical consultant for local media, including ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, Sun Sentinel, and Florida Weekly. Within the medical community, Dr. Jue has delivered research presentations and invited speakerships throughout the United States, Latin America, and Asia. Dr. Jue has authored didactic material to instruct other urologists as part of the AUA Core Curriculum and AUANews. His passion and dedication to teaching was recognized through his promotion to Teaching Associate in Urology during his first chief resident year. During his time in Miami, he served as a delegate and voting board member of the Dade County Medical Association, the largest lobbyist group for physicians in Dade County. He is a current or former member of the American Medical Association, American Urological Association, Endourological Society, Society of Urologic Robotic Surgeons, and Society of Robotic Surgery among others.
His passion for community service has extended both within South Florida and internationally. As a medical student, he was the founder and senior president of Operation: Veteran Engagement, the only student organization at the University of Miami to address the elderly and veteran populations. As a physician, Dr. Jue participated in 3 surgical mission trips to Honduras, in order to provide medical supplies and perform complex operations for their underserved and remote communities. During these trips, he taught local surgeons endourology techniques and was the first surgeon to perform ureteroscopy in Olanchito, Honduras.
Dr. Jue is excited to bring his minimally invasive surgical expertise to Florida, through the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, kidney stones, and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
