Dr. Christopher Tallman

Dr. Christopher Tallman
Dr. Christopher Tallman is a board-eligible urologist who practices general urology with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgical management of benign and malignant prostate disease as well as minimally invasive kidney surgery. Dr. Tallman’s academic background began in music where he studied classical piano at the Interlochen Arts Academy throughout high school. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Musical Arts in Music Theory at the University of Michigan after which he earned his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences in Miami, Florida. Dr. Tallman attended Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies where he received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. He subsequently completed his surgical internship at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. After his internship, Dr. Tallman then went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship in minimally invasive robotic urology with world-renowned urologist and innovative pioneer in robotic surgery, Dr. Mani Menon. During his time at the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Tallman was highly involved with the development of the early techniques of partial prostatectomy which has gained traction as an alternative “focal” treatment option for men with localized prostate cancer. Dr. Tallman went on to complete his residency at the prestigious Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas where he studied robotic surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Brian Miles. Dr. Tallman’s experience in robotic surgery is heavily influenced by Dr. Miles and centers around providing excellent surgical technique, safety, and functional outcomes. He routinely performs robotic prostate cancer and kidney cancer surgeries. He is actively involved in studying the outcomes of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for prostate cancer and is eager to begin offering this to eligible men with prostate cancer. Dr. Tallman has a particular interest in the management of lower urinary tract obstructive symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and works with the current technologies and techniques for treating men with enlarged prostates and voiding difficulty. He has been fortunate to be involved with the early clinical deployment of the one of the first Aquablation robotic platforms with internationally recognized expert Dr. Ricardo R. Gonzalez during his chief resident year at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Tallman is a well-trained and experienced Aquablation surgeon and happy to be offering it to the patients of South Florida performing surgery at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Florida. He is active in the academic community with Aquablation including presentation at the annual meeting for the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and publication on outcomes for me with very large prostates. Dr. Tallman also routine performs minimally invasive surgical therapies of the prostate with Rezum in the office and Greenlight Laser Therapy of the prostate at local hospitals.

All surgical treatments have inherent and associated side effects. Individual’s outcomes may depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to patient characteristics, disease characteristics and/or surgeon experience. The most common side effects are mild and transient and may include mild pain or difficulty when urinating, discomfort in the pelvis, blood in the urine, inability to empty the bladder or a frequent and/or urgent need to urinate, and bladder or urinary tract infection. Other risks include ejaculatory dysfunction and a low risk of injury to the urethra or rectum where the devices gain access to the body for treatment. Further, there may be other risks as in other urological surgery, such as anesthesia risk or the risk of infection, including the potential transmission of blood borne pathogens. For more information about potential side effects and risks associated with Aquablation therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) treatment, speak with your urologist or surgeon. Prior to using our products, please review the Instructions for Use, Operator’s Manual or User Manual, as applicable, and any accompanying documentation for a complete listing of indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions and potential adverse events. No claim is made that the AquaBeam Robotic System will cure any medical condition, or entirely eliminate the diseased entity. Repeated treatment or alternative therapies may sometimes be required.
