Alex Koper, MD is an experienced, board-certified urologist who has cared for generations of Central Coast residents of all ages for more than 40 years. He attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical School, received his training in general surgery at Stanford University Medical Center, then returned to UCLA to do his urology residency. He completed fellowship training in urology at the London Hospital Medical College. Dr. Koper approaches his practice with a calm and caring demeanor and has an amazing ability to reduce tension and anxiety in all of his patients, from children to adults. He has led Sansum Clinic’s Urology Department in its pursuit of the most advanced surgical procedures, and he and his colleagues offer patients the latest diagnostic tools and treatments. Dr. Koper is also passionate about serving his community, and for the over four decades he has been in practice, has assisted the Santa Barbara County of Public Health Department Clinic to provide the most underserved patients with specialty care. He was recently honored as the Physician Of The Year for Santa Barbara County by the Central Coast Medical Association and considers it a privilege to be a part of the skilled and compassionate medical community in Santa Barbara.
