Mr. Nic Munro

Nic Munro qualified from St Bartholomew's Medical College, London in 1994. He undertook core medical and surgical training in London, Winchester, Oxford and Brighton and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998. He received Specialist Urology training in Yorkshire, including 3 years at St James' Hospital, Leeds. He was awarded his PhD in 2006 for original research investigating global protein expression in bladder cancer including urine cancer detection testing using AI. He received FRCS (Urology) in 2007 and completed training to enter the GMC Specialist Register as a Consultant at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust in 2009. He undertakes prostate and bladder surgery including keyhole (laparoscopic) kidney surgery. He introduced transperineal prostate biopsies in Cornwall in 2019 and MRI-Ultrasound Fusion prostate biopsies in 2024. Nic undertakes Aquablation therapy to treat urinary symptoms caused by benign prostate enlargement (BPH) at the Duchy Hospital, Truro. This technique utilises his experience of prostate ultrasound to accurately map the prostate treatment volume prior to water ablation.
