Dr. Thoreson attended medical school at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio, TX. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Thoreson worked at Pfizer's Global Research and Development headquarters, later completing a research fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine while in medical school in the department of Cardiology. Dr. Thoreson trained in the Urology residency program at UT Southwestern Medical School and has performed hundreds of robotic and endourological procedures. He currently holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. In addition to the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia, localized and advanced prostate cancer, he has a clinical interest in medical device development, clinical trial design, kidney stone treatment and prevention, recurrent urinary tract infections and voiding dysfunction. He has authored numerous papers on these topics and strives to remain at the forefront of research and development. Dr. Thoreson is a Rockwall native but has made Dallas his home since 2010. He enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and traveling.
