Dr. Wesley Porta

Dr. Wesley R. Porta attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. He attended the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans where he earned his M.D. in the spring of 2010. After moving north to attend the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, he performed a one-year Internship in General Surgery and a four-year Residency in Urology, completing his Residency in the spring of 2015. In his final year, he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Porta is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, as well as a member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and the Louisiana State Urological Association. He is board-certified with the American Board of Urology. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana. Dr. Porta was the first Urologist in the Baton Rouge area to perform The Urolift System and now the first Urologist in the Baton Rouge area to perform Aquablation therapy providing rapid relief and recovery of BPH symptoms. Dr. Porta is passionate about delivering attentive, personalized care to patients of all ages. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll often find him by the water, enjoying his favorite pastime—fishing.
