Dr. R. Yu

Dr. R. James Yu is a fellowship-trained Board-certified urologist in Marin County, CA, serving San Francisco, East Bay and North Bay regions. After graduating from the USC Keck School of Medicine with Highest Distinction and Alpha Omega Alpha honors, Dr. Yu went on to Stanford University to complete his internship and residencies in General Surgery and Urology. Dr. Yu further refined his surgical expertise with fellowship training in Advanced Robotics and Laparoscopy at the USC Institute of Urology, under the direction of one of the world leaders in minimally invasive urological surgery. Dr. Yu has in-depth experience in robotic surgery for urologic oncology (prostate, bladder, kidney cancers) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) including the Intuitive DaVinci robot, and Aquablation therapy. His research interests focus on medical device development, and has received multiple grants previously from the NIH, Coulter Foundation, and NCIIA, and has multiple patents issued and pending.
