Dr. Mark Plante
Mark K. Plante, MD, FRCS(C), FACS is the Chief of Urology and Urology Residency Program Director at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He is a Tenured Full Professor of Surgery and is the Urology Residency Program Director. He completed his medical degree and surgical training at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Plante has been an invited speaker and visiting surgeon at conferences and universities throughout the United States, Canada, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and Australia, most commonly for his expertise in new technologies in the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). This is also an area of focus for his numerous peer-reviewed presentations and publications. Specific to Prostatic Aquablation, Dr. Plante has served as an investigator in its early development as well participating in both the pivotal WATER I and II trials. He remains active in practice treating primarily patients with complicated BPH and urologic cancers.
