Dr. Hunter Nolen
Dr. Hunter Nolen grew up in North Texas where he attended Liberty Christian High School. He competed in baseball and football, earning a Division I scholarship to play baseball at the University of Northern Colorado. At UNC, Dr. Nolen graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Engineering Physics while competing in the Western Athletic Conference and the Great West Conference. During college he spent his summers living with host families throughout the country, while working and playing in collegiate summer baseball leagues like the Coastal Plains League and the Northwoods League. While playing in the Northwoods League he won the Rawlings Gold Glove award. He gained his interest in medicine after working with different medical specialists through multiple injuries while playing collegiate baseball. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Nolen worked at a small engineering firm in Colorado designing emergency planning hazard assessments for petroleum companies and department of energy facilities around the country. Dr. Nolen attended the University of Texas Health Science center where he was a member of the AOA Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Once he completed his residency, Dr. Nolen joined a private practice in Louisville, Kentucky. He then moved to Central Missouri with his wife, who is a general surgeon, in order to be closer to family. Dr. Nolen has a particular interest in minimally invasive management for BPH and looks forward to bringing this skillset to Central Missouri.
